1. Start IntelliSwimLaunch IntelliSwim on your Palm handheld by tapping on Applications and then IntelliSwim.Note: If you have already timed events you can view them by tapping on the Time Log button. |

2. Start TimingStart timing an event by tapping on the Start button. Notice that IntelliSwim is accurate to 1/100th of a second.
Tip: You can also use the Palm's center hardware UP button (at the bottom of the Palm handheld) for Start and Stop. The center hardward DOWN button can be used for Split and Save. |

Three timers are available, the main timer at the top and two auxiliary timers at the bottom.
To start all three timers at the same time press the Start All button. |
|
|
3. Stroke RatesRecord stroke rates by tapping on the Stroke button each time the swimmers arm hits the water.
Start a new stroke rate calculation by pressing the Clear button or waiting 6 seconds before pressing the Stroke button again.
Up to 10 stroke rate calculations can be associated with a saved time.
Tip: You can also use the Palm's 3rd hardware button for Stroke and the Palm's 4th hardware button for Clear. |

4. Record Splits and Stop TimingRecord splits by tapping on the Split button. Up to 50 splits may be recorded for each timed event. Notice that once a split has been recorded the split timer is displayed to the left of the overall time. This is the running total for current split.
Finish timing by tapping on the Stop button, if splits have been recorded a final split will be added.
Finish timing with the auxiliary timers by tapping on the Stp buttons at the bottom of the screen. |

5. Clear TimesTo stop timers and reset times to zero without saving the time tap on the Clear or Clear All buttons.
Note: To use the clear buttons without the confirmation question each time tap on the Menu button and then Preferences and check the Do not confirm clears option. |

6. Edit Split DescriptionsIntelliSwim will provide default split descriptions. To change any of the split descriptions tap on the description and then the Edit button. |

7. Save TimeTap on the Save button to save the time into the Time Log and then reset the timer to zero. The number of timing events that can be stored in the Time Log is limited only by the amount of free memory on the Palm handheld. |

Tapping on the Meet name text from the Save this time? screen (above) will bring up this screen. From the Meets screen you can select, create, or edit Meet names and dates. | |

Tapping on the Swim name text from the Save this time? screen (above) will bring up this screen. From the Swimmers screen you can select, create, or edit Swimmers. | |

8. Time LogTap on the Time Log button to bring up this screen. All saved times can be viewed, edited, deleted, and beamed to other Palm handhelds.
To change which saved time is displayed tap on the Meet, Swimmer, or Event dropdown lists.
Note: Trevor's 50 meter splits were 27.31 and 24.98 for this 100 meter long course event. |

9. Time EditingTapping on the Edit button from the Time Log screen brings up this Edit screen. |
|

Tapping on the Time value from the Edit screen (above) brings up the Edit Time screen. This allows you to change the value of the saved time. | |

Tapping on the Splits button from the Edit screen (above) brings up this Edit splits screen. | |
|
10. Conversion CalculatorTapping on the Calc button from the Time Log screen brings up this Conversion Calculator. The Conversion Calculator will convert times between yards and meters or meters and yards. When the length of the timed event is greater then 50 meters or yards conversion between short course and long course is also an option. |

10. Swimmer ReportsTapping on the Reports button from the Time Log screen brings up this Swimmer Reports. From this screen each swimmer who has at least one time saved in the times log is displayed. Each event that the swimmer has been timed in is available. To view another set of times tap on the Swim or Event dropdown list. To sort the times for the event tap on the Sort dropdown list and select from By Date, By Fastest, or By Slowest. |

Tapping on the Compare button (above) will bring up the Compare Times screen. Tap on a time from each list and the difference between the two times will be automatically updated at the bottom of the screen. The times in both lists are sorted as they were in the Swimmers Reports list. | |

12. Finish ModeIntelliSwim features two modes of timing, Splits and Finishes. To change between the two modes tap on the Menu button from the Stopwatch screen and select Preferences.... |

Tapping on the Fnsh button will record the finish time and the difference between the finish time and
the 1st place time. Up to 50 finish times may be recorded.
After recording the 1st place finisher's time that time is displayed in the upper left hand corner. The current running time of the event is displayed in the center of the display in large text. |

|
Finish mode timed events are displayed in the Time Log with the 1st place time as the the main time.
Note: Trevor's relay team finished third 0.42 seconds out of first place. |

13. BeamingIntelliSwim features the ability to beam a Time or Meet to another IntelliSwim enabled Palm handheld.
From the Time Log screen tap on the Menu button and then select one of the beaming options. |

Simply point your Palm handheld at another IntelliSwim enabled Palm handheld and the selected information will be beamed to the target device. | |
|
14. Merging Meets and SwimmersIntelliSwim features the ability to merge swimmers or meets.
From the Time Log screen tap on the Menu button and then select one of the merging options. |

15. Other FeaturesFrom the stopwatch screen tap on the (Palm's) MENU button to bring up the options menu. Add Time - Add a time not collected by IntelliSwim into the IntelliSwim database. |

16. Beam Trial Version of IntelliSwim to a FriendFrom the stopwatch screen tap on the Menu button and then tap on Beam IntelliSwim to beam a trial version of IntelliSwim software to a friend's Palm handheld. This will allow your friend to use IntelliSwim for 10 timed events. |

|
17. IntelliSwim Professional Edition - Desktop ComponentThe IntelliSwim Professional edition features a PC desktop companion which allows you to view, print, save as a web page, and save as a CSV file your IntelliSwim data collected on your Palm handheld.
